While there are other characters besides the main four (Pocoyo, Pato, Elly, and Nina) who appear in the game, they unfortunately aren't playable, and if the game managed to include all (or most) of the characters in the television series, then there would be about 15 playable characters, which would be much better than what we actually got. The character roster is very lacking, with only 4 playable characters in the entire game, and most of the time, the game doesn't let you choose between them with a few exceptions, and depending on the minigame you play, the game only allows you to play as a certain few from those 4, such as Pocoyo and Nina.Despite there only being 6 minigames, some of them tend to last a bit longer than they should, as some last up to nearly 3 minutes, while in most party games, the minigames usually last for about a minute or less. Not only do the minigames have poor motion controls, some of them can just be flat out boring, such as the bee racing minigame, as you don't have any control over your bee, as all you do is hold down the accelerator button, and release it in order to avoid crashing into walls. In the fishing minigame, in order to pull the fishing rod up, you have to flick the controller up, which (sometimes) doesn't work. However, even if you stop doing said action, the crane would still move for a little bit. In the building blocks minigame, in order to move the crane, you have to tilt the controller around. In the aformentioned window cleaning minigame, in order to wipe the window with the sponge, you have to roll over the controller in your hands just to move the sponge up and down, which is an awful way to implement motion controls in the game.Extremely insensitive and unresponsive motion controls to the point where they can be considered as nearly broken, with them usually not working properly in several of the minigames, and while some of them do allow you to just use the analog stick instead in order to make them easier, however, the only minigame that absouletly requires motion controls is the window cleaning minigame, which has one of the worst implementations of motion controls than in any of the minigames as stated below.Even its predecessor, Pocoyo Racing, had more content to offer than this, and that game was released in late 2011 for the Wii and DS. Adding onto BQ #1, for a party game released in 2021, the amount of content the game has is very lackluster, as there are only 6 minigames. The game was probably rushed due to its absurdly short amount of content. When Pocoyo and the Narrator find out who the mailman really was, the former and his friends then set off to get them back by playing through 6 simple minigames. If on PC then Super Tux Kart is worth investigating.Angry Alien disguises as a mailman in order to steal the invitation cards for a party that Pocoyo is going to have, due to the former believing that he is not going to get one. In which case there was a Nascar themed thing on XBLA, and on disc based efforts Split/Second and most of all you want to look at Blur which is seemingly enjoying a bit of a hidden gem status of late. If you have 3ds and Wii stuff in there then I am going to count Xbox 360 as well. Still have yet to try Road Redemption which some deemed a spiritual sequel. Probably skip the GBA effort and I was not a great fan of the DOS/Windows version that most consider the series to have ended on. Will also spin it a bit and say Road Rash needs to be contemplated. Never played any of the other versions and it was also on Amiga, Saturn, PS1 and a token gameboy effort). Back on the N64 then Lego Racer (even if I am not the biggest and) and Diddy Kong (which if you can forgive the boss races and hub world thing was a better game from where I sit) were trying to improve where everything since has gone in for mediocrity.Īnyway I will chuck in Street Racer (even go for the Megadrive version rather than the SNES, though most would pick SNES. Everything seems to hold it up as a gold standard when it was always nothing special, which consequently means things try to copy it and in doing so get the copy of a copy problem going on. I have come to quite dislike mario kart in recent decades.
